Summary
"Summer is coming!"
Summer arrives on the island with the scorching sun, unaware that another 'Summer' already exists there.
Do Yeoreum (18) secretly escapes to his uncle's island during vacation, hiding from his parents' ongoing divorce proceedings. Upon arrival, he witnesses a village gut (shamanic ritual) accompanied by the sound of gongs. On this island, isolated by the sea on all sides, an elderly female shaman holds immense influence. When the villagers begin murmuring that 'Yeoreum must receive the divine spirit,' Do Yeoreum flees the ritual in fear.
In a deserted forest, he encounters Jung Yeoreum (19), a boy around his age. As the shaman's only grandson, Jung Yeoreum is destined to inherit his grandmother's role as the village shaman. Perhaps it's because they share the same name and birthday, but the mainland boy and the island boy quickly grow close.
As summer vacation draws to an end, Jung Yeoreum's birth father arrives on the island, seeking the son he's never met before - all for an organ transplant. Do Yeoreum can't stop thinking about Jung Yeoreum, who seems to be merely a pawn in the adults' schemes.
Soon, however, he learns from the islanders about a curse called 'fate-stealing' and the truth behind their shared names...
