Summary
After collapsing from overwork, an ordinary office worker in Korea wakes up in the world of a novel — thanks to the god Note, who mistakenly believes she’s died. Feeling guilty for taking the life of someone still alive, Note offers to grant her one wish. But reborn as Litera, the female lead of the novel, she refuses any shortcuts. Determined to carve her own path, she skillfully navigates the plot, twists the original story, and rises all the way to the top — becoming Empress.
But just as she reaches the pinnacle, she’s betrayed and killed by her husband, the former Crown Prince Avito. In her final moments, she thinks of her one source of solace — the letters from Duke Ferus Termine of the North, her mysterious pen pal whose face she never saw. With her dying breath, she begs the gods: if they have any conscience, give her a second chance.
Miraculously, Litera is sent back in time.
This time, Litera wastes no time. She heads straight for the North to find Ferus. She is shocked to discover he’s nothing like she imagined, but something in his actions tells her: he’s the one. And so, a new story begins... with a contract marriage that may change everything.
